The Pharrell Williams HU NMD line has garnered hype and patronage ever since its release back in 2016, taking inspiration from different countries and cultures all around the world. One of the latter releases within the linage draws inspiration from South Africa and is described by Adidas as Pharrell's "exploration of languages from around the world". The sneaker features a white contrasting stitched graphic that reads “Human Race” in Xhosa, which is an official language of South Africa. Elsewhere, the upper is crafted from Adidas’ Primeknit textile material, while the BOOST midsole and rubber outsole come in a tonal monochromatic look. The co-branded sock liners and extra lace options round off the design.
